Volunteer Library Researchers

SLOCGS librarians will research the varied and often unique San Luis Obispo County resources available in our library. We classify your research questions (1) as lookups from our databases or (2) as "everything else," in other words, open-ended questions requiring payment for at least one research hour in advance.

Please use this form to initiate a lookup or research request. Submit queries via email to: slogenlib@gmail.com, or via postal mail to: PO Box 441, San Luis Obispo, CA 93406.

Professional Researchers

The San Luis Obispo County Genealogical Society maintains a list of independent genealogical researchers who are able to conduct research locally, statewide, nationwide, and worldwide (please see below). SLOCGS assumes no responsibility for the work of these researchers, and inclusion here does not constitute endorsement. Any agreement reached with one of these researchers is a personal contract between two private parties and does not involve the San Luis Obispo County Genealogical Society.

Researchers vary with respect to credentials, experience, rates, and services. You may wish to visit the Association of Professional Genealogists website for pointers on hiring a professional researcher.
