Library Researchers

The SLOCGS librarians are available to do research using the many San Luis Obispo County resources we have in our Genealogical Library. In addition to those resources our librarians can search for birth, marriage, death records and obituaries. We do ask for a donation of $15.00 per hour ($13.00 for members). This includes the cost of copies. Please contact the SLO Genealogy Library by e-mail. If you cannot contact by e-mail, you must include a SASE with your letter of enquiry.

We cannot respond to queries that do not have a stamped return envelope included.

Mail all queries to:

Professional Researchers

The San Luis Obispo County Genealogical Society maintains a list of independent genealogical researchers who are able to conduct research locally, statewide, nationwide, and worldwide (please see below). SLOCGS assumes no responsibility for the work of these researchers, and inclusion here does not constitute endorsement. Any agreement reached with one of these researchers is a personal contract between two private parties and does not involve the San Luis Obispo County Genealogical Society.

Researchers vary with respect to credentials, experience, rates, and services. You may wish to visit the Association of Professional Genealogists website for pointers on hiring a professional researcher.
