San Luis Obispo County Genealogical Society  SLO County
Genealogical & Historical Resources

San Luis Obispo County is one of the original California Counties and as such has a wealth of local information that was recorded in both local Newspapers and in Newspapers Statewide.

In the early 1960's SLOCGS member Laura McAnallen began to abstract miscellaneous data from San Luis Obispo Newspapers which have been microfilmed and are available at the SLO Public Library on Palm Street.

The Abstracts were published in the SLOCGS Bulletin over a period of years. When the SLOCGS Genealogical Library was moved from Osos Street to it's current location in the SLO Public Library, a partial set of printed abstracts was discovered.

Dianna G Curtis & Kathy Nienhouse indexed all of the articles: There are 5660 Names to this index!
The Index in searchable pdf format can be found here.
The jpeg images of the printed pages can be found here.
