San Miguel Cemetery

San Miguel, San Luis Obispo County

California

The San Miguel Cemetery District was formed in 1939 by petition of area residents. The first burials that can be documented were in the early 1880’s.

The San Miguel Cemetery is located on Cemetery Road, west of Highway 101 and slightly opposite the Mission San Miguel.

There are many unknown dates of birth, death and interment: The current Cemetery Secretary, Betty Robinson is working diligently to determine dates for her records. There are many Veteran’s interred in this Cemetery as well as early residents of San Luis Obispo County.

In June and July of 2006, the San Luis Obispo County Genealogical Society transcribed this Cemetery. A team led by Jerry Robinson photographed all existing headstones. Jerry and Rita Robinson then organized the images matching them to the new database.

Due to the size of the index and to facilitate quicker loading, it has been converted to a searchable pdf file which can be found here.

Tom Gorham has many family members interred in the San Miguel Cemetery. He has prepared a listing  which includes additional data. The File can be found here.
